Entrepreneurs often struggle to get their business ideas started because they lack a plan to define, organize, and aid in securing funding. MyGPT Plan clarifies the complexity of business plan creation.
The Problem
Business plans are often tedious and costly to create, leaving entrepreneurs struggling to know how to get started.
Imagine a tool that could produce a customized business plan in 10-15 minutes.
With the simplicity and ease of MyGPT Plan, users only need to answer three simple questions. Within a matter of minutes, they can review, revise, and export a professionally crafted business plan.
My Role - Lead Designer
As the Lead Designer, I’ve transformed a conceptual idea into a vibrant, functioning reality. I’m responsible for branding, crafting intuitive user flows, and bringing a cohesive vision to life.
Leveraging AI
AI is a quickly evolving technology that is getting more advanced every day, but not everyone understands how to prompt it and use it meaningfully. Partnering alongside a seasoned Engineer and Product Manager, we created an intuitive experience that only requires answering three simple questions to create a full-fledged business plan.
Early Testing
I worked alongside the PM to conduct early testing using Chat-GPT3, basic wireframes, and discovery questions. Our engineer was busy setting up the application's back-end, including connecting to Chat-GPT APIs.
Our early research provided us with quick validation of the general flow, gave us insight that users expected to pay anywhere from $75-$250 for a finalized plan, and allowed us to refine our generative AI prompts moving forward.
Most users we tested business concepts with were surprised and excited about the structure of the business plan. They were intrigued with additional ideas they were given that they hadn’t yet thought about.
Market Research
Professional business plan writers and consultants will charge an average of $2,000 - $25,000 depending on the business size, complexity, and length of document.
AI Design Patterns
With AI being a new emerging technology, it was somewhat difficult to find resources on how to approach designing with AI. I specifically wanted to understand more about emerging patterns and interactions so I did some initial research looking at how Grammarly and Notion were helping their users use AI. A few questions I was considering:
When are users prompted to use AI enhancements?
What interactions are taking place within the AI generator?
How did these businesses prioritize primary and secondary actions as the content continually changed?
What feedback was essential to surface to users regarding the total number of allotted prompts?
How many prompt options were these tools providing users? Why and how many should we have?
How would any of this increase or decrease the project scope because of these complexities?
MVP
This project is currently in development, and we plan to release an initial Beta in late December 2023.
With this project's time constraints and desired release date, I worked quickly to produce the MVP flow to generate an AI Enhanced Business Plan focusing on Interaction Design around AI. I decided not to prioritize mobile responsiveness for V1.
Moving forward, I’ll be working to establish flows for user sign-up, payment processing, inviting collaborators, editing an existing plan, and mobile responsivenss.
